How do you change these light bulbs?

I have a traditional 8 feet A-frame ladder and it wouldn't reach. A straight ladder doesn't work because it's too far from the wall. :(

This is a golden opportunity to spend thousands of dollars on toys tools you could never justify owning.

Ah, the fine art of the subtlebrag. "How can I show off my high ceilings without seeming like I'm gloating?"

Nailed it.

one of those little changer things Dirgible linked may work. can you get up into the attic on the other side of the can?

I read this as "one of those little changer thing dirigibles" and thought that a RC blimp with bulb changer attachment would be awsome. Nevermind exploding glass bombs as you dropped the bulbs, it would be cool.

shoot the lights out

Buy my newly patented Bulb Blaster™. It consists of a shop vac/leaf blower and a set of rifled extension tubes and adapters for all common bulbs. First, use the vac setting to grab the old bulb out the socket. Then use the leaf blower setting to shoot the new bulb into place. The rifling will impart a spin on the bulb ensuring that it twists snugly into place.

scaffolding?

I suggest you install LEDs - regardless of how much they cost, it's going to be better value than trying to change them again in your lifetime.

Except the reality of the cheap Chinese driver that affords little if any protection against frequent line voltage anomalies. ;)

A pole is what's used to change out expired bulbs at hard to reach heights.

Wow must cost a fortune to heat that house.

You could probably build a whole new room up there, that's kind of an inefficient use of space other than the coolness factor.

The poles as suggested sound like the best idea. Ladders become kinda unsafe at those heights given you have nothing to put it against to get proper reach.

Reminds me of my church when the projector bulb went. They had to get scafolding and whole 9 yards in there just to change the bulb. Kinda funny when you think about it, all that trouble for a such simple task.

Oh another thing, if you can indeed get into the attic, what I'd do is add an access door beside each fixture that you can open from the attic, you could open it and stick your arm out to change the bulb. This may be messy if you have blown insulation though. I'm guessing there's no attic though.
