Hi all,
I am running mandrake linux 8.1 and i am running it on a pentium 166 witth 32 megs of ram. KDE is really slow. What GUI would u reccommend for ease of use and speed and how woudl i change to this?

blackbox, icewm or fvwm would all be great. Check their manpages for information on how to select them, but I think it has to do with your ~/.xinitrc file.

Yah...I am a linux n00b and have no clue what you are talking about. I have been reading about some sort of windows manager rather than a full blown gui. I just want to make this computer a webserver. Would a gui be better or a windows manager, and how would i install the windows manager?

Why bother if this is for a server?

if you just want it to be soley a webserver, skip the gui altogether .. if you want a fast gui .. then do a search on freshmeat.net for "blackbox" go to the official site, for docs about it .. i think its blackbox.sourceforge.net , but not sure .. good luck ..
