how do you certify your builds for stability?

I run my builds though a multi step process. First put a temp warm burnin room, 79degrees/humidity 45%

#1 Boot into memtest, run SMP test overnight.
#2 Intelburntest, max setting multiple runs.
#3 GPU burnin test using a few software packages to stress it.

Then use it for a week for normal non critical work.


Are there any other good methods other than what I use?
 
Run a few passes of LinX, run a few benches of Valley, then I run both at the same time, then put it to work.
 
I honestly don't really bother, much. Maybe a quick 1-2 pass RAM test, if anything, and a surface scan on a new HDD, SMART check, NTFS full format, SMART check, surface scan, SMART check. If there are bad sectors forming after that, then it's a bad drive. For a rig running at stock CPU clocks / memory clocks, I don't really stress-test much, although I might run 10 minutes of OCCT, just to see what the temps are.

If I'm overclocking, then I stress-test much more. In fact, I'm not happy if it crashes once every 2-3 weeks. (My current G3258 does that. Grr.)
 
If my target speed won't boot Windows, I will use Memtest to reboot and change voltages & timings. Within Windows, Prime95 for however long I can run it will represent a good real world test. I no longer use LinX or Linpack because they are unrealistic loads. Same with Furmark and I had FM actually fry an 8800GT so I will loop Heaven for however long and visually inspect for artifacting every so often. A lot less labor intensive and more realistic this way.
 
If overclocking I'll run something like Prime95, Aida64 etc.
Generally I just use the system normally and if it doesn't crash, catch fire or explode, it's "stable".
