How do you cause a 56k modem to wait before dialing?

My roommate has voice-mail on the phone and makes that beep-beep-beep sound for about 5 seconds. My modem cannot detect the line to dial out when that happens. I know there is a way to cause the modem to wait a certain number of seconds before dialing, but I forgot the line commnds. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks.

Been a while but I think you add commas, ,,,,, etc until you get enough wait peroid. I can't remember how much time each is worth.

I'll try the comma next, but nothing I have tried so far works. I thought there were some AT command or INIT string codes you could enter and then specify the time to wait before dialing. I have searched, but turned up nothing. Someone has got to know.

The wait time before dialing is register S6.The value can be set from 2 to 255 seconds.

Thanks rushr, but how do I incorporate that into the init string? Currently it just says ATZ. Do I need something like ATZS6=10?
