How do you benchmark with Serious Sam or UT or suggestion?

I'm trying to benchmark this new video card for work to see if it's a contender for it's price point and I can't seem to find much that allows me to truly use this cards features.

I've run 3DMark2000, 2001, Evolva, Q3A and the benchmarks don't look to good compared to other cards, but these benchmarks are all very old and don't take advantage of any of the cards special features.

I then download and ran Comanche 4 (the only demo I have that uses Direct X 8) and all of the sudden the card started to shine! Apparently Comanche 4 really uses what this card has.

I'd like to hit the card with more. I've got UT and Serious Sam 2, but don't know how to do a benchmark with those two games. I was also hoping that someone could steer me to a free download that could help me bench this card. I'd like to use as much as possible to see how this card does. Any suggestions are appreciated.

In serious sam, open console (F1 I think)
Type:

/dem_bProfile=1

Then go to the demos in the main menu and choose which one you want, when it's over hit console again to see what you got.

I'm not sure how to benchmark UT demos, but open console(~, `) and type timedemo 1 and that will give you current and average fps when you are playing.

If you really want to see what the card can do, download the SOF2 Single Player demo and turn off AA, AF, put resolution to 1600x1200 and see what you get in the jungle..My GF4 4200 @ 325/600 can get down to 20fps in some areas with (mostly max quality) 2x AF on.

I'm sorry. What's SOF2? I'm ignorant when it comes to these abbreviations. I was playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein for three months before I realized that RTCW stood for Return To Castle Wolfenstein.


I don't know if I want to benchmark the card without AA or AF. I would think that would look like ass. I don't care if it helps frame rates if it looks like ass. I'm not going to play games like that, nor do I expect customers to either.
