How do you benchmark games.

I basicaly want to know how to benchmark or make it so I can see a FPS number while playing a game. I am interested in Q3, RTCW, MOHAA, SS-TSE and any other 3D games that are worth playing or at least benchmarking. I would also apreciate some benchmark demos but that is only secondary.

Q3 and RTCW: Open console and type /cg_drawfps 1
MohAA: Enable console in advanced options, i think..then open it and type fps 1
SS: Open console and type /hud_istats=1

Thanks, but I forgot to mention Half Life and CS if difeernt as well as Max Payne and maybe I can think of some other games later on.
