How do you apply and wipe off the wax on your car?

I've always used circular motions to apply and wipe off. I was talking to a guy at an antique car show awhile back and he says you apply and wipe the wax off with straight back and forth motions from the front of the car to the rear.

How do you do it and why?

i used an orbital buffer before and it worked well.

Doesn't it leave circular streaks in the wax/paint?

i'm not an automotive paint expert, but i think there's an orbital buffer and a buffer that pros use. the orbital buffer uses an irregular pattern (not just circular), to avoid any scratches from a novice.

here's a link i found on google. hope it helps Text

hehe that is a pretty cool website.

Waxes you put on/off with circles.

Polishes you go in straight lines to hide the scratches. The way the lines go are according to the body panel you are on. Down to up on doors and vertical pieces and back to front on horizontal?

😕
