I have one of the newer HIS IceQ3 Video cards. HIS does not have a manual for it on its web site. I like my computer quiet, not silent with plenty of air flow and cooling for the various components.

i have googled and heard you can do this with the usual this or thats, but when you go to say Speed fans web site.. it is a 'trust me" proposion.. namely download the software and find out.

Also Ati tools and Riva Tuner are supposed to be able to .. but..

For all of the above and just to tweak things.. Can someone like MechBgon be helpful enough to show a "how to" guide for adjusting temps and fan speeds for video cards?

It would be much appreciated or a link to the how to would be great too!

Hey,
I don?t have an actual walk-through for this, but assuming you have say an X1900XT or X1800 or whatever, download the latest ATI tray tools. When I installed mine it took me a while to figure out all the settings. Also it seems by default programs like this underclock your GPU and lower voltages or seem to run your 2D clock speed all the time.

All you need to do is create a profile (say calling it Gaming) in the Hardware section and set it back to your stock speeds with stock voltages. You can also modify the fan speeds to this profile based on the temps you start getting for card. You can have this profile boot at startup or have it start based on specific games you want, as you can actually bind these profiles to specific xxxx.exe game files. Gotta love it. It also gives you the temps in your tray tool area if you want. What else can you ask for.

Honestly every since I found ATI tray tools I have not looked back at anything. I love it I love it love it. So far it all seems to work -- great control and fine tuning and no more CCC to take for ever to open and be flaky.
