No. Inexpensive way to do it.

A lot of times you can get one of those for like 70 bucks. Way cheaper then a car's ac system.

Now, the inverter is what might cost a lot.

I hope he bought the a/c model with remote, that could get to be a pain reaching around to turn off the A/C.
