How do X570 boards handle 4 sticks of RAM?

Per the AMD documentation, the official supported RAM speed for X570 drops a bit if you are using 4 sticks of ram vs 2 sticks. I've also heard that 4 sticks is more difficult for the memory controller to handle than 2 sticks.

I'm looking at a new build and I want 32GB of ram - which is obnoxiously expensive in 2x16GB configuration at high speeds and tight timings. 4x8GB is cheaper and if there are no serious problems I'd prefer to run that instead. I'm looking at 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16 memory.

Do the X570 boards have trouble running 4x8GB of ram at 3600mhz? Firsthand accounts are spotty, so I decided to ask for advice here.

I have 64GB of ram; filling all 4 banks on an Asus e570-E ROG board.
With the Ballistix Sport LT modules, I can run all four sticks at 3200 CL16 or 3600 CLT18.

4 hour memory test passed and will see if I can increase the voltage and reduce the CL next weekend; happy with the current results and not sure how patient I'll be to squeeze a little more out..........

Thanks for the input. What are the memory sticks rated at? I'm looking at tighter timings, so I'm not sure if it's going to be a problem yet or not.

I have the same exact memory setup on a Aorus X570 Xtreme running at 3200 CL16. I've been debating whether to swap them with sticks rated for 3600 but I can't find anything available. Thoughts? Would the performance gain even be worth the price increase?

Nope because that would mean samsung b-die which are roughly 2x the price of your current RAM for couple % performance increase.
In the x570 motherboard thread I think .vodka mentioned running these at 3200cl14 or 3600cl16. So tweaking voltage and timing could lead to some improvement.
