How do webcams mount on your monitor?

I want to buy a Logitech Quick Cam 4000, but was wondering how it will stay on top of my monitor? Do you have to use something sticky? I wouldn't want to put something on my monitor that won't easily come off. My monitor is usually at an angle, so I can't see it staying there on it's own.

You don't have to put it on top of your monitor really, you could put it anywhere around it if you'd like. Most cam's have some kind of ability to swivel or tilt to adjust the view. I haven't ever gotten one that came with anything sticky to mount it, but I'm sure you could go buy something from like Staples or Home Depot/Lowe's if you wanted to mount it somewhere but still be able to take it off easily.

The Quickcam 3000 Pro has a standard camera mount...the 4000 should be similar.

I am a macgver type guy so I got some aluminum from home depot (1/8"x3/4") and bent a nice bracket that holds the camera in front of my monitor in the area of the bezel. I drilled a hole in it and put a thumbscrew of the same mount type in it. I can swivel it no problem...if you need hieght adjustability, all you have to do is mount another screw-type device on the opposite end with a rubber foot on it, screw it either way to adjust the angle. On my monitor I just used a rubber foot about 1" high....since it angles back I can slide the rubber foot back to angle the camera down or forward to go up....

I zip tied the cable neatly to the bracket.

It is Z shaped with the top of the Z being about 12" and the bottom and downward part just big enough to hold the ball of the cam.

yeah, he's really hilarious. like I was saying, if the monitor is at an angle and the cam doesn't have anything to hold it down, that very thing called gravity will pull it to the ground.

I used package tape - like I care what the top of my monitor looks like.
