How do we feel about a Judge that orders 'religious liberty' training for lawyers?

Speaking of Judicial ethics ....

A court watchdog has filed a complaint against the federal judge who ordered “religious-liberty training” for a trio of Southwest Airlines lawyers as part of their punishment for not fully following his orders in a case involving speech about abortion.

The leader of Fix the Court says U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr’s choice of training conducted by a Christian legal-advocacy group is “strange and unprecedented.”

Fix the Court, a small, nonpartisan group known mostly for monitoring the U.S. Supreme Court, filed the judicial-misconduct petition Tuesday with the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal in New Orleans.

Oh ... and ....

"Former President Donald Trump nominated Starr for the bench in 2019. "

Typical is my thought on this. He should get citation in his record and a warning. Instead he will get a juicy donation in the basket

Even worse than it sounds at first glance. The training is from "Alliance Defending Freedom". They're basically the legal arm of the fascist nationalist Christian movement.

Religious liberty complaint is such bullshit. That gives them cover to abuse group with whom they don’t agree. These same religious liberty people stood by while Trump instituted a Muslim ban. These same people don’t allow Rastafarians to smoke pot as part of their ceremony.

My suspicion is that he could care less about the education of two pilots and wanted to cause an outrage to advertise the existence of such a group. As to the judge himself. I would wish him tried by the Taliban,

I don't know, making lawyers sit through whatever stupid bullshit that group comes up with would actually probably backfire quite nicely. Have a very strong hunch that group could not help but open themselves up to legal ramifications.
