I don't know sh!t, but my guess is the mods are a number of the VERY few elite's, those who were the most respected and publicly known as honourable members when the forums were young. they have proven themselves to be worthy, and I respect what they're doing, because its not much fun cleaning after all those nefs especially with the forums becoming so big, and they probably have to keep their dual identity (I don't think they left, so they still post using their original handles. unless the MODing system allows you to be logged on using normal handle but since you have mod status you get all those extra "lock" and "edit" buttons, and when they post as mods they sign "mod" instead of their normal name), and they don't get paid for it. I wouldn't wanna be a mod. But we need them, so someone has to be. Why would YOU want to be one?
