How do unlocked phones work?

I have a question about this too. I have a Nokia GSM phone. If I get an unlocked Samsung or Moto phone, will I run into any problems with my contacts transferring over?

Your contacts should be stored in your SIM card. An unlocked phone can work with any SIM card.

Yes, that will work for now. It's only a matter of time before Cingular kills the ATT side of the house though.
