hey does anyone have any info on how to run norton ghost. i already have a ghost boot disk but i dont my question is how make a image and then get the image back up.. and does having an image of ur system any good.

TIA

what a putz, why bother taking the time to type if all you are going to do is crap on the poor guy? Does it make you feel better about your puny insignificant life? Too many pimples and can't get laid? Do every one a favor and shut the f**k up next time.

In response to the question, I went to the symantec site and found most of my questions answered in the faq for the version I had. In a nutshell, if you're going to write an image to your drive you need a separate partition, it can't read your drive and write to the same partition at the same time. Using this program gave me a good use for 2gb drives. Do a clean install, add a few programs and settings make sure it runs stable and ghost an image to a small slave drive, instant backup/redo drive. PM me if you need any help.

or, just go to Help>Tutorial (or Contents)
Just a hint . . .
It is suppose to write disk images directly to CDR/RW drives, or, if you are connected to another system, it can clones quickly from PC to PC.

Why do you need Norton Ghost? It's for upgrading, backup, and recovery systems.

Just run Ghost.exe. It's a very easy program to use. You tell it what you want to do (local partition to image, or image from partition) and it installs the image. I use Ghost a lot.

i use ghost.. the best prog i used to backup my drive.. if something goes wrong... BAM.. load the back up image in 3 min...

sak, here's the best non-Symantec guide to Ghost I've read. I'll bet it will answer every question you'd had re Ghost, and probably a few you haven't thought of yet <g>!
