How do u Overclock a P4 Processor - noob qeustion

First of all, and a good advice... read alot this forum !!!!

Second, please give more info about the system and about yourself to know if we can talk "nerd talk" or "light talk"..... :)

^ the FSB and then ^ the voltage when you need to provided you have enough cooling. If you have an Intel mobo then you can forget overclocking.

Im not sure what is my mother's manufacture because i didnt built my computer and i bought it from Dell, but i am building one. My mother chipset is 845PE

- correction - My Motherboard Chipset is 845pe*

OK, with a Dell you can't go into the BIOS and the change the FSB or Vcore settings, (or memory divider, or vdimm) so that means no overclocking options. It's the same thing with HP, Compaq, IBM, Gateway, and Sony. No overclocking on these machines.

The only way to overclock a dell would be via software but i wouldn't really go that route, i dont know of any software i would trust to overclock a PC. Maybe someone else here knows but i don't.

Only way to overclock would be to do it on the computer your building yourself.
