How do u guys setup your 4.1 or 5.1 sound system?

My computer desk is in the corner of my bedroom and the speakers would be placed at non-equal distances from me. This makes it so that the sound wouldn't be balance. I know I can adjust the volume of each individual speakers in windows so that the sound would appear to be equal distance from me at my desk, but what if I move to my bed to watch a movie? Is there any software that I can set different sound profiles depending on my position in my room or any other types of solution for this problem?

I put the two main speakers on the desk relatively to the left and right of the monitor. Then I put the two surround speakers at the top of my desk, keeping em at the corner of my desk. The bass speaker is on the floor.

The surround speakers are set to be louder than the main speakers in order to get "surround" like quality.
