How do they make the yellow line on NFL tv?

You know that yellow line that's drawn with a computer, how do they do that? Because whenever a player crosses it, it's behind him and not on top. Nice.

While I don't know for sure, I would imagine it is based on the same system they use to draw lines on the screen. I always loved when John madden used to draw wicked routes explaining what a guy just did, hes funny. But I wonder if its the same principle that they use for hockey games, where they leave like a blue tail on the puck, so you can easily follow its movements.

Anyone ever noticed the computer generated advertisement behind home plate in baseball?

Next time you watch a game, especially in the playoffs, when you get the "common" view of the pitcher pitching where the camera is placed in center field. There are always advertisements on the walls behind the catcher and umpire.

I think i first noticed this when the ads changed mid-game. Then I started paying attention. Wait for another camera to look athe walls behind home plate. Not even a close up is required, the ads are gone!!!

They used to have moving billboards back there, but the pitchers complained that it was too distracting so they switched over to the current method.
