I had not considered the possibility that some people may consider vinegar to be helpful to the liver so I performed the following google searches to verify.
I find that numerous people do believe vinegar to be good for the body and I found a few sites that appear to caution against drinking too much vinegar but stop short before actually saying so or explaining why.
It does appear that vinegar serves as a good detoxifier for the body if the vinegar is consumed in small amounts.
Unfortunately, the sites that appear to caution against drinking too much vinegar are not medically or scientifically reliable. This may be because this issue has slipped through the cracks of modern science due to being classified as either commonly understood or unable to verify.
It is true that foods cooked in vinegar are very tasty and this supports the common understanding that vinegar in small amounts is helpful to the body. I have learned from personal experience that consuming vinegar physically hurts people who have damaged livers. If you, the OP, question this and you have liver problems, drink some vinegar as normal but hopefully in a much smaller quantity. Then give consideration to your liver afterwards and see if it hurts.

What I learned from this search is that vinegar is very useful in detoxifying and cleaning the body, when the vinegar is consumed in small amounts. It seems that consuming vinegar in large amounts is harmful to the body and this would be logical, but this has not been proven. However, if someone possesses liver problems and vinegar consumption causes liver pain, then it would be logical to decrease vinegar consumption. The connection between the vinegar consumption and liver pain needs to be recognized first though.
