How do text sizes compare at differing resolutions?

I have an 18" LCD at work that I run at the native resolution of 1280 x 1024. I am comfortable with the size of the text.

I would like to purchase a LCD for home and run it at 1600 x 1200. How large would the LCD need to be to have the same text size as the LCD at work?

I dunno, but you can always change DPI and font size settings in Windows.

Well for 1600*1200 on an LCD you're looking at one of the 20" models.

Newegg has a deal right now on a samsung 21.3" for 600 bucks. You might want to look at that.

You can make the text larger with out changing resolution. That should not be a problem. It negates nothing.
