How do southerners live without snow?

Its not winter till the white stuff falls... Don't you guys in the South ever want a change?

We manage.

If I want to see snow, I can always drive a few hundred miles north to see some friends of mine who go to the University of North Texas - and I probably will this winter. 🙂

Snow is vastly over rated

Yes, but sometimes it's cool 😉

I can't live in a place where there's "winter" though -- I need my sunshine and tan in December, thank you very much 😛

We have a zillion more insects (species & numbers) down here than you do because it never freezes.

The freaking ground is alive compared to up north...

<-grew up in the dakotas & live in north central Texas now.

Snow is cool until you are out of grade school. Then it's a pain in the ass. Businesses don't close easily like schools do.

Haven't you ever been south when it DID snow?

They can't drive in that stuff for anything. :Q

haha, yeah. I had the "luck" to be in Georgia when it snowed one day... not even enough to cover the grass... it still looked green as opposed to white. All my cousins were out of school for the day. (could have been partially because it was the day before their Thanksgiving break, though.)

just like how hurricane blows away half the houses in florida and no water + electricity.. every zone has its goods and bad.. at least with the snow.. there's still a roof over my head and i can surf online.. if I live in florida (south) and every summer, I get a chance to lose my house.. i probably welcome snow

I was born and raised in Michigan. Snow was winter. After moving to Phoenix AZ, I missed snow for the first year. Then, after going back home on vacation last Christmas and being around snow again, I don't miss it. 🙂

Heaven help us all if it snows in Phoenix though. Valley dwellers barely know how to drive when the weather is nice.

My wife bitches daily about it being cold. Too bad, because it's a helluva lot cheaper to heat this place, than air condition a place that bakes all year. I can keep slogging along when it's cold, but when I'm hot and sweaty I can't do sh|t. If we ever move to western North Carolina (only place I'd care to move to), I've GOT to find an air conditioned place to work, or I ain't moving. And, if she's thinks it's cold here, wait till I crank the A/C at home there! Hah!!
