How do private label credit cards typically refund a credit on your balance?

i have a $81.84 balance on my mervyn's card because I returned some shoes after i paid the balance for it. anyone know how these private label credit cards generally give you back your money in cash form rather than credit on my account? it's free right? i would hope they don't charge me for issuing me an $81 check.

customer service is closed so i'm just wondering for now...

They pay you back in pennies

They pay you back in $2.00 bills

CRAP!

That reminded me that I took a $2 bill from some lady today paying for home magazines. I meant to take it from the register and put two ones in, but we were super-understaffed and I forgot, what with the whole working past closing and the burglary alarm going off. :|

seriously guys... will they pay me back or keep it locked into my balance unless I pay a fee? thanks...

It will likely remain a credit. After so many months, if you haven't used it (or if you request it beforehand), they should be able to cut you a check.

CALL THEM

 Who cares if they're closed, call them anyways. 😀

I guess most of they will issue you a check if after 3 months inactive of your account.

I always overpaid my bill a few cents, sometimes they will issue me a check.
