how do people write songs?

do you write the lyrics first and then the music, vice-vera, or at the same time?
do you write neat little rhymes one after another, or do you spill your thoughts and then revise?

I normally write music first. I normally don't write lyrics because I suck at singing. 🙂

that is solely an individual's choice.
ive written some really stupid silly songs, i just came up with one line and went from there.

I normally start with the music, I think it's easier to make words match the feel of the music than vice versa.

No, I'm pretty sure it's most music in general. Everyone just copies someone who came before them. Those who do something new and different (that doesn't suck) are the revolutionary ones.

Depends on what kind of songs....

Basically just mess around on the keyboard to come up with melodies and harmonies.

Then, think of a subject and just write about it.... I suppose.
