How do people name things?

I've been developing this content management system for our website here at work. All this time, it's never had a name. So, I was telling my supervisor that we needed a name for it. He thougt real hard about it for a couple minutes, and came up with "Maxwell".

Ok, so it's named maxwell.... cause we couldn't think of anything better.

Are products typically named like this?

i think typically a priduct gets named something catchy that will sell better. But usually don't they have marketing teams strategerizing on it? 😕 usually they dont let managers name a product whatever they want...

Well, we're not selling it, it's just a tool for employees here to use.
