How do people like their Radeons?

I just got one last night. I switched from a TNT2 m64 to a Radeon VE 32mb DDR. I like it, but I don't fine the visual appearance of the rendering of games as robust as my TNT2 (maybe i need some adjustment time). Do other people feel this way? The TV out is great but looks a little blurry, tough to see the fonts at 1024X724(something like that). This is my first vid card experence with tv out.

Also, are their adjustments that can be made from default to help any of these issues? Tweaks?

Thanks,
Eric

I like my Radeon.

Edit: I have a Radeon SDR PCI, and the 2d quality is probably much better than my crappy Gateway monitor can display.

niccolt: the radeon ve has a crippled RAMDAC which isnt as good as the other Radeons, giving it worse 2d quality

I've got two retail Radeons: PCI SDR and AGP DDR and I like them both OK. No card is without problems.

I bought a 64MB Radeon and took it back because the 2D quality wasnt as good as my Matrox g400. The quality was better than a GeForce2 though. I run 1600x1200 @85hz on a 21" monitor and program most of the day, so 2D was more important than 3D. I don't think the quality is as bad in lower resolutions though.

The Radeon and TNT2 is in two total different league. My Radeon LE beat the crap out of my old TNT2. Image quality of course and speed.
Go over rage3d.com and download the Radeon tweakers over there and the latest driver and try it again. I don't know about the VE version.

...just to clear the things: from what I understood by reading some threads here, all radeons, except radeon VE, have the SAME 2d/3d quality, Am I wrong? By all radeons(expect VE) I mean radeon 32MB DDR, radeon 32MB LE and radeon 32MB SDR.

all right... I downloaded radeontweak and tweaked the hell out of my radeon ve. I must say, i am pretty happy with the quality of the card. The opengl support is much better than my ol' tnt2. The D3D is decent. If you get a Radeon VE, you have to use RadeonTweak to maximize the potential of the card.

The tv output is a little blurry, but I can live with it. Using RCA, not S vid. My first video card experience with tv out, so i didn't know what to expect. btw, the colors look very accurate on my old 19"

UT --- Great
Q2 --- Fantastik at 1024x768 and higher
HL BS --- awesome

I have one question. Why does ATI have most of the default settings for drivers at subpar quality settings? That does not make sense. I know the VE does hold up against the GF. But those default setting from the initial driver install where making game graphic quality embrassingly subpar to my older tnt2 before i tweaked it.

Don't play your games in 16bit, it looks crappy. 32bit looks great and the card is still fast @1024x768.

I got an LE about a month ago, upgraded from an old TNT2. I had no idea what I was missing out on. I love my new card. As soon as I got it, I performed all necessary tweaks to get it better, updated driver, flashed bios, etc.

I have to agree that HL BS looks absolutely AWSOME, nice work with the colors. Also check out the recently released The Hunger 3 for HL, very very nice specially if your room is totally dark. TH3 is one of theose games where ambiance is more important than blasting and killing everything.
