How do people code cd-key generators?

I'm just curious. How do they find out the algorithim or whatever that the game uses?

Aside from this, if you get enough CD keys and compare them enough, you may notice similarities. Some play off of this. What it boils down to is that people don't have anything better to do with their lives than sit around not making money off a decent talent and seeing to it that other people lose money in the process.

Most "warez" CD Key generators really just pull a key from a pre-defined list of stolen keys.

I'd really like to see anyone smart and fast enough to notice patterns in Alpha-Numeric cd-keys.

And I doubt the latter.
