How do pawn shops manage to end up every 1/4 mile along major streets?

How is that I can drive down a relatively major road and see three or four pawn shops over the course of a couple of miles? Is there any use for them besides selling stolen sh!t for $20?

I've browsed through them a few times in my area, never had any great deals on anything. Basically an overpriced groodwill store.

Move out of the ghetto.

unfortunately unversity areas are synonomous with ghettos. I'll take a 10 minute commute than a 30 minute drive from suburbs

Pawn shops around here have some good stuff (a lot of pot smoking musicians who pawn gear all the time to score weed). Never pay what it is priced. You can usually get it for much less.

They can be closed for selling stolen goods. They keep a log and such. It's not like you see in the movies.

I find their prices on most goods to be very high.

Exactly. I don't know that I've ever paid the marked price at a pawn shop.

would you rather have one giant pawn shop that looms over your town, takes over your life and eventually kills you? thats what i thought

I shop at them all of the time...everything from $10 video games to $200 electronics. I've found the vast majority of items to be under market price (especially compared to eBay), they have a 7-30 day warranty and you never know what you'll find when you go back another day.

Of course 🙂 I live in Charlotte. I will mention that most of the pawn shops I go to are national franchises located in good parts of town...we have our fair share of seedy scary shops too. We also have a lot of pawn shops...most of them spaced no more than 15-30 minutes apart (which is impressive given a metro area of a couple million people)

i buy guitar stuff for really cheap, you can always get it for less than they are asking. my friend's dad owns one and i get all sorts of stuff dirt cheap
