Asking because wife is on 2nd snow day and I'm on 2nd work day (not even late in or early out)

is it because of the bus issue / sidewalk issue or is it because we value our lovely children too much to send them off into the dangerous mr. winter?

I'm mainly just crazy jealous that I will never get a snow day again, but I think it's crazy that employers just don't give a damn that roads are bad and can get away with it. I guess if you aren't bussing in employees to work, you rid yourself of the liability issues from assuming it is safe to drive when it is not

This. Actually, it's a bit of both, but you got it. Imagine a shit ton of helicopter parents... now imagine a child of said helicopter parents slips and falls. A royal nightmare for the school district is what ensues.

Here in Central PA schools seem to close down quite a bit. Although here we have tons of hills, some shoddy state highways, and a lazy ass road crews. Last thing anybody wants to see is a school bus go running off a mountain.
