i have a soho case.

i took out all the fans possible and the only ones left are the Powersupply (Enermax whisper)

the video BFG 6800 oc

and the stock P4 2.8 heatsink+fan

some sort of foam i've been hearing about.....

If you want to be a cheap ass about it go to Wal-Mart and purchase a sheet of foam board and cut it to size, then install it to the insides of the side panels, and maybe the top panel as well if it will fit. (I'd recommend gettinga strong plumbers pipe adhesive to attach the board to the metal case walls) Also note this may raise temps a lil bit though if that worries you at all. You may also want to consider a cooler such as the Zalman 7000 ALCU to help reduce noise from your CPU fan.

rubber washers between anyhting mechanical and the case (casefans, HDDs).
you can also buy rubber surrounds that fit between your fan or PSU and the case. more expensive than single washers, but same idea. works better on PSU because it vibrates more than a fan.

don't use foam. it's cheap, stupid, and a ploy to pull on newbs. if you REALLY need sound insulation and the rubber washers/surrounds don't help, get rubber sheets and put them on your interior side panels and top panel. it reduces vibration which is what you hear most (from fans vibrating on a sidepanel, etc).
