How do I write an exponent in Microsoft word?

I need to write out x squared, however I do not know how to write the little two in post-script. Anyone know how?

Try Format >> Font >> then check off Superscript. This is for Word 2000.

Also if you "customize" your toolbar, you can add a button for super and sub script.

ctrl + shift + = : superscript
ctrl + = : subscript
