How do I view reg entries as ascii win7?

Here's where windows 7 stores a list of files you have opened.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSavePidlMRU

BUT, I need to view the list as ascii. How do? No obvious way in regedit.

Or, need a safe alternative to regedit, I'm very very wary of anything aftermarket editing my registry. Thoughts?

Text is ASCII. Would exporting the reg key then opening (editing) it in Notepad work for you?

Here's a very comprehensive list of Text/ASCII Editors if you need more capability than Notepad.
