I am looking to capture video from VHS to CDs. Most importantly I need to get our 11yr old wedding video off VHS onto a CD for longer storage.

Does anyone have suggestions on the equipment needed to so this?

I am going to get a 1Ghz AMD w/ Abit Kt133a motherboard soon. The question remains on what else I will need. Is Raid 0 needed? What video card will do this and do it well?

Can anyone help me in this?

Well basically what you need is a card with the VIVO function that stands for video in and video out, ATi makes an all in wonder series that has the functions you need, but other than having a bunch of different output input types the cards are not great performers. Any card with VIVO should be the first step, You are also gonna need some editing software like adobe premier or the like, most of which can be found for free somewhere on the web, there are alot of different programs and I am sure you can find a free one that would suit your needs. You are also gonna need a huge amount of harddrive space as video takes alot of space.

You only need a device with video in.
Any TV tuner/capture card should do the trick.
I use an Avermedia TV'98 card (around $30-$60), and it works nicely.
Using mgep1, 2 hours of 30fps video uses about 1Gig.
Todays 7200rpm ATA66 drives are fast enough, and work fine here without the need for Raid.
