The title kind of says it all, I'm going to replace my northbridge HSF with a passive cooler, but I need to move my graphics card down to PCIE4. I've tried just moving it, I've tried switching the jumpers to SLI mode, I've even tried using an old pci graphics card as my primary and installing the x800xl as a secondary. I uninstalled all the graphics drivers before moving the card down too.
Every time I try to boot with the x800 in pcie4 I get no vga signal at all. I can tell it is booting into windows normally, and with a few random clicks I can even login, but I can't see a thing. I think this has to be a bios issue, but I just can't find the option to tell it to look at PCIE4. Oh, and I'm using the 6/23/05 bios.
I know there are others out there who are using the lower x16 slot for the same reasons I am wanting, so any help would be appreciated.
