How do I use spot remover to get an oil spot out of clothes?

I let a sausage drip grease on a pair of khakis and I'm not having much luck removing it.

Perhaps I'm not using the spot remover right. The original stain is gone, but the stain remover leaves a ring of its own and I can't seem to get rid of it.

Anyone know how to do this right?

buy some lestoil (or lesstoil....not sure how to spell it). It smells real bad when in use but will wash just about anything (even INK) out of clothes. Might have to brush it in and wash a couple of times but works very well. Can buy it at WalMart or Kmart or some Drugstores for about 3-4.00 per bottle.
