I download the OGG Vorbis file from the site, extracted it to the Winamp/plugin folder.

What's next?

Once you install it you should just be able to play OGG files by associating them with Winamp or opening them from within winamp.

YEah, I got it from that link.

I click on a ogg vorbis file, it opens winamp, but won't play.

Whats a matter?

Do you have multiple versions of Winamp installed? It might now have installed into the correct winamp folder.

No, I do not have multiple version.

Does my soundcard have to support ogg vorbis?

Because I got an embedded sound card.

Now once we know how to get the OGG plugin, the next question is - where the hell do i get OGG media files from...?!

No your soundcard does not have to "support" Ogg. It is a compression algorithm; Winamp decodes it into WAV-sound which all sound cards support.

...And for reference, next time read the readme that opens up after you install:

<< Q: Whenever I try to start playback, I get "The specified format is not supported or cannot be translated (...)" error message. Why ?
A: Go to Winamp preferences / plugins / input / Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder, click config, set output format to 16-bit. 24 & 32-bit modes DO NOT work on most of available sound cards. >>

No your sound card does not have to support it. OGG Vorbis is just a compression technology just like mp3. I don't know what to tell you about getting it to work because it is as simple as downloading the plugin and running the setup.

You won't find many OGG files around simply because MP3 is the standard. OGG has better compression and better sound but since mp3 is the standard I don't see anything changing so if you want OGG files you will most likely have to make them yourselves.

I can't configure the file when I go to the plugin screen.

It says they are No Configuration. OGG files are ogg files.

The only listing for .ogg files is under input, which is oggvorbis plugin 0.2
