How do I use multiple OS's on one pc

I plan to run a pc that has the following OSes

WIndows 2000 Advanced Server
Linux
Windows ME

I would like to run all of these frequently. How would I do this?

I believe you would have to install Windows ME first, then 2K Adv Server which should pick up ME and give you the option in its menu, then install Linux and configure Lilo for the other 2 OS'es. Just make sure you install ME and 2000 on seperate partitions.

When you install Windows 2000 Adv Server after WinME, 2K installs a boot loader, which at boot, prompts you for which operating system you want to boot into. However if you then install Linux, you need to configure Lilo (Linux Boot Loader) to identify Windows ME/2K, but I'm not too knowledgeable on using Linux, only started using it 😀

Thanks, guys

Any tutorials on how to use Lilo, and how to make it recognize Windows 2000 and Windows ME?

You don't have to use Win2k Adv Server; Win2k Pro will work just fine. Adv Server is mucho $$$. I have a friend who dual boots between WinME and Win2k Pro without any problems.

There is a piece of software available called"System Commander by V-Com" that a friend of mine uses and says it is great. I am just getting ready to install it and use it with Windows 2000, Windows 98se, and one of the others ( Linux Mandrake or Redhat etc). It is also a partition device. My friend heard about it on the " Jeff Levy Program".

Hey dcpsoguy, remember me from videogaming forums?

Anyways, I'd recommed you run Linux-Mandrake 8.0. I'm on a dual boot Win2K Pro/Linux, and the LILO bootloader does everything great, and the Mandrake Installer is extremely helpful and easy to use(especially with the partitioning)...

Or if you would like to configure Windows 2000 Boot Loader
to Dual/Triple Boot (Not sure if it works for Advanced Server,
but it definitely works for Windows 2000 Pro),
check out this FAQ 😉
