How do I use a SMC Barricade Router as a swtich?

I have a SMC Barricade Router (SMC7004BR) it is a 4 port 10/100

I have this strange DSL ISP called Case of Command and they don't use DSL modems... I have to use a USB network device to go on the internet on my computer...
The problem is that there are 3 other computers in the apartment.

Here is what I want to do:

Since I have a SMC Barricade Router and another NIC in my computer... I want to use the Router as a switch and internet share my Internet Connection with the USB device that I am currently connected to the internet.

All the machines have windows 2000 installed.... I have never used switches and anything.. so assume newbie procedures...

Please help me in setting up my apartment network.

It's a very complicated procedure to convert the router in to a switch. May take several tries, so study the following VERY carefully. Are you ready? How to use it as a switch:

Plug the computers in to the RJ45 jacks.

Okay, maybe not quite that simple. You also need to disable DHCP if it's enabled.😀

Whether you're assigning addresses statically or dynamically to the private machines, be sure to set the IP address of the machine running ICS (or whatever) as the default gateway for the others.

USB modems suck....blech!
Sorry that's what they have you using...🙁
