do i just get a null cable and attach it to like 2 computers modems? abit out of date i know but it'd just be for the occasional game.

Two modem with null connection either will not work, or will be slow, and painful to set the games.

Much faster, smoother, and ?Yeah Cooler?, is to get two NIC (Network Cards, they go for $5-$10 a piece). You add to it CAT5 Crossover cable (few $$$), and for a sum of $20 or so you have a Cool small Local Area Network (LAN).

Great for games.

really? i thought the null thingy had a transfer rate of 1.5mb a min of something, so that'd be 750k for each, or does the modems restrict that? i was kinda meaning like connectin a laptop to a desktop for like very cheap, i did it at a friends house with quake 1 years ago

wait wait wait wait, sorry, stupid me, i meant connecting the 2 computers via their serial ports, that'd be better then modems surely?
