How do I upgrade my liteon LTR-32125W (32X/12X40X) burner to 48X?

I heard that I can "upgrade" my burners speed to 48X by simply downloading the firmware and flashing my burner. I downloaded the new LTR-32125W (32X/12X40X) firmware and flashed it but it is still the same speed. Do I need to flash the LTR-48125W firmware if i want to get the speed up to 48X? The site i have been getting the firmware from is www.liteonit.com but i don't see anything in the instructions about the need for some mtkflash files . . . what is that all about?

I would also appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to learn how to do this, too. I could not find any directions in this forum (not saying it's not here, but I can't find).
