How do I update my 8500le bios to retail?

I jsut got an 8500 128mb le and want to flash to retail..I cant find BIOS stuff on ATI's website... how can I do this?

Why use another BIOS when you can extract your own out of your card, edit it to whatever speed you'd like and then reflash it. ;) Check out Rage3D, they'll help you out.

ill check rage 3d again thanks


once again, does the retail have anything over le other than clock speed?
(mine le is BUILT by ati)

johnbear007... I just did it... See my thread here.

I was able to re-write my current BIOS with an edited version changing the clock speeds of my OEM 8500LE to 8500 retail speeds.

Your RAM chips will also play a role.

I only needed two tools. ATIFLASH.EXE and RadEdit (search google for ATIFLASH).

You have to physically look at the chips on your card. The last 2 numbers on the 2nd line down are the most important. Mine end in 33 so I have 3.3ns RAM.
