My board is an Asus K7S333. I forgot to disable the onboard sound when installing the OS and now I'm having problems with a couple of games and music listening because of the 2 sets of drivers (Santa Cruz drivers and C-Media drivers). I've disabled the onboard sound and the C-Media drivers. Heres an example of one of the problems...I use Roger Wilco and it keeps telling there is no sound card installed so I have to go through the whole setup process everytime. I'm thinking its because of the stupid onboard sound drivers. Anyway..I want to get rid of them altogether. How do I do that?

(edit) btw, I've deleted the drivers a number of times in the device manager, but everytime I reboot they get reinstalled!!

So, you have disabled the OB sound in CMOS, and deleted the device in device manager, but when you reboot the OS autodetects the device and installs the drivers? That's odd. What OS are you using?

The simplest answer is to disable the device from the properties in device manager. Make sure you set the sound playback and recording default devices to the santa cruz from the audio tab of sounds and audio devices in the control panel.
