since I don't have it, I can't really tell you how to uninstall it, but a FREE personal firewall that is probably THE BEST one out there is kerio.

Damn I forgot, it's called Nvidia something.

It's some weird name. I can't remember it right now and my comp is unaccesible. List what you have in Add/Remove that has Nvidia in front of it.

Why are you unistalling it, what's wrong with it?

I think its the Network Access Manager, but its retarded to remove it only to replace it with a SW firewall. Why would you want to do something so stupid? The nVidia firewall is not only more robust, but it doesnt use any CPU cycles.

Under add/remove programs it is called "Nvidia Forceware Network Access manager" and no, if you remove it, it will not cause anything to screw up, but no point in uninstalling it if you need a firewall. It works great and does not hog cpu cycles on my machine at least (using latest nforce drivers) and i am using it right now on this connection (have my PC at a relatives house while my net is down at my house, they have no router). Have not been hacked yet and its been about 5 days of leaving it on 24/7.

I'm using the nVidia Firewall as well, and i think its badass. The only issue i'm having with it is with my newsgroup access. If i leave the firewall enabled then like 90% of the files i download are all incomplete. But if i disable it while i'm downloading stuff from the newsgroups, then the files are suddenly complete again. Overall, i feel very comfortable having it, but i'm not 100% sure on how to "properly configure" it. If you're using the default setup, that might be causing your issue. Try to configure it before you uninstall it.

The nVidia firewall caused nothing but endless problems for me, then royally botched things up when I tried to uninstall it. Wound up doing a format and reinstall using the custom install option so I could avoid installing it the second time around.

All NVIDIA drivers are under one collective entry. You click change on that entry then it gives you a list of NVIDIA drivers.
