My mother just purchased a new computer with Vista on it. She is a travel agent and her companys travel software is not compatible with IE7 yet so she needs to downgrade to IE 6 How can you accomplish this?

You can't.
You could see if the software is compatible with Firefox or Opera, or downgrade to XP.

If you use Firefox and that doesn't work,

You can use a plugin with Firefox to use IE as a tab within Firefox. This works.

However that only invokes the version of IE you have on the system (probably using the version agnostic progid for mshtml.dll). Last I checked FF and/or the IEView addin didn't ship with the IE6 renderer but I could be wrong.

VirtualPC or VMWare player is your friend. Might seem like overkill but hey, it's better than dual booting or carrying two notebooks. Really tho I would question why the software doesn't work. It's very possible a simple setting tweak could eliminate the problem.

Contact the software vendor's support people and maybe also google for breaking changes from 6 to 7.

Fixed ;)

Ahh people did the same "fixes" for upgrades to 2K from XP when XP came out, give Vista some time.

Thus the might. It works for the only site I know of that is incompatible with IE7.

Then it's not really incompatible with IE7 then is it? Sounds like the "developer" of that site is just an idiot.
