How do I unhook this stylus from Galaxy Tab 2

I have the use of a Galaxy Tab 2 7" for a few weeks.
Its got a stylus connected to it that flops around and is annoying.
I don't want to break it, so if anyone can tell me how to get it off, I'd appreciate it.
It looks like this:

that's a 3rd party stylus... either ask if you can remove it... or just tape it to the side of the damn tablet.

I have a similar stylus. It is connected by an inert plastic plug into the audio port. It should just pull out.
