I've searched the menus of Word 2003 and Illustrator CS and I can't seem to find the language options. I know Windows XP Pro has native support for the Greek Language and my browser can read greek unicode.

Have some hairy guy sit on your lap, reach around him and bang away at those keys.

wow, old thread but i can answer it

go to your control panel
go to "Regional and Language Options"
click on the "Languages" tab
click the "Details" button
click the "Add" button
select "Greek" from the dropdown list
click "OK" until you are out of those options

press left-alt and shift to switch between languages.
it's not too hard to type in greek, only a few of the buttons are different from their theta, omega and psi are the only three that took me a while to find.

Yes, but if you would like everything to be in english, but want to be able to write in greek quickly and easily (for assignments, letters, whatever), a greek font works well... The trouble with using a US keyboard with windows greek settings is the accent mark. With the greek font i use, accents are easy, and you can create all of the various onesfor ancient greek as well.
