Thanks guys. Adding the string in msdos.sys works just fine. I don't know if it loads that much faster in all reality though. Is there any other way besides unchecking the start-up items in msconfig start-up to speed booting up?
You may already know this but some bios have a "quick boot" option. Or you can just look in the bios options to see what it's doing at startup. For example, before I had a scsi drive my bios would always check for scsi devices until I disabled it.
I also always check the start up folder in windows after I do the msconfig thing, just to be sure there's nothing loading.
