How do I turn off pixel shaders?

Just got Morrowind, beautiful and perhaps the biggest resource hog I've ever played. Someone suggested I turn off my pixel shaders, but since there's no such option in the game itself, I guess he was talking about my vid card. How do I do this, since there's also no such option in my 44.03 driver...?

you can't "turn off" pixel shaders... it doesn't work that way..

whoever suggested that you turn them off probably isn't a reliable source for information...

to improve performance, turn off AA and Aniso, and lower the resolution...

lol yea turn off pixel shaders lol might as well try turning off your cpu's fpu
