how do i turn off junk mail in ICQ?

I'm getting these annoying messages (not the normal kind, they look different and are in a dialog box), can I turn them off?

how are they different? are they coming from unknown people, or from your contact list? or do you mean you get a URL message or WWWpager? or are they icq advertisement?

i'm just guessing here, but you can try to go to preference -> security & privacy -> ignore -> check the box for "do not accept www pager" and "do not accept emailexpress"

if it's icq advertisement, go to preference -> misc -> uncheck "show icq announcement"

not sure if that's what you want... maybe we need more info and/or maybe screenshots?
