How do I transfer VHS to digital on my computer?

Hello there,

I have a library of vhs tapes on a shelf in my living room ( you clutter heads know what I'm talking about) how can I conserve some space and transfer those to digital form to store in my computer or firewire external hard drive? I have a gf4 ti4200 with a couple of ports I don't know what to do with. I think 1 is Dvi and the other is a s video maybe, whatever those are.
