How do I transfer the warrenty on a Dell 2001FP?

I recently bought one of these(new in box) from a member here. Could someone explain what I have to do to get the warrenty transferred to me? I supposedly need a copy of the invoice and he said he will send that to me on Monday, but what do I do from there?

Uh, i may be mistaken but i dont think the warranty is transferable on S&P items.

May I transfer the limited warranty?

Limited warranties on systems may be transferred if the current owner transfers ownership of the system and records the transfer with us. The limited warranty on Dell-branded memory may not be transferred. You may record your transfer by going to Dell's Web site:

If you are an Individual Home Consumer, go to www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/topics/sbtopic_015_ccare.htm
If you are a Home Office, Small, Medium, Large, or Global Commercial Customer, go to www.dell.com/us/en/biz/topics/sbtopic_ccare_nav_015_ccare.htm
If you are a Government, Education, or Healthcare Customer, or an Individual Home Consumer who purchased through an Employee Purchase Program, go to www.dell.com/us/en/pub/topics/sbtopic_015_ccare.htm

I remember there being discussion in the past though that the warranty on S&P was only valid for the original purchaser.

Some people say you can't transfer it but this is what I've heard. Take your original order # and give it to the person you're selling it to. Make sure you give him your name that you used for when you placed your order. This is what I've read at the official Dell.com forums. I have not tried it myself.
